The Home of Carlstadt Soccer Established 1981

News Detail

Aug, 2020

Everyone is required to read and observe the following guidelines:

Regarding masks:
-All towns in the SBSL, including Carlstadt, will require the use of face mace and social distancing in most situations .
-Parents/spectators will be required to wear masks when present at soccer events, whether at home or away fields.
-Coaches will wear masks at all times.
-Players (yes, kids!) will be required to wear masks when they are on the sidelines, but will not be required to wear masks on the field.

Regarding Screening:
-All players will be screened for fevers using a no-touch thermometer that has been supplied to each head coach.  Any player with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be sent home.
-Parents, DO NOT DROP OFF your children and leave, wait to ensure they have been cleared to participate.
-This procedure will be in effect for every practice and game during the season.
-All players will be given a COVID questionnaire that will need to be completed by each parent, for each child and handed to coaches before every practice and every game.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS made to this requirement.

In order to minimize contact:
-The coin toss will be eliminated and the home team will automatically start with the ball on the side of the field they are sitting on.
-We strongly discourage spitting.
-No handshakes during or after the game.
-No team celebrations after goals as per NJ Youth Soccer Guidelines
-At this time there is are no restrictions on throw-ins or heading the ball.

Regarding fields:
-Most towns, including Carlstadt, will not be opening concession stands, bathrooms, and will not be providing stands/bleachers for spectators or benches for players.  Be prepared to bring your own chairs and sit in a socially-distanced manner.
-Lindbergh Field will be have clearly marked areas for players and spectators, please be aware and situate yourselves accordingly.
-Game balls will continue to be provided by the home team and will be sanitized before and after the game.
-Coaches should be the only ones to touch equipment, including goals and flags.
-Each town may have additional specific guidelines, please be familiar with these rules which will be posted on the South Bergen Soccer League's (SBSL) website: South Bergen Soccer League
-This year's season has been shortened in an attempt to prevent any abrupt end or shutdown; all divisions from U10 and up will be using a playoff format... there will be no U10 Tournament this year.
-Given that enrollment is down for most towns, the league has suspended the call-up rule and allowing teams to play with lower-than-normal number of players.  This means that younger players from lower divisions can be asked to play a game with an older team (call-up) with parent's consent.  If a team only has 9 players, both teams will be 9v9 rather than force one team to forfeit.
